You are Fully Welcome Here.

At The Church Lot, we believe every human being bears the image of God — no exceptions.

We joyfully affirm and welcome people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions.

We welcome people of all races, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds.

We welcome those with physical, emotional, and intellectual disabilities.

We welcome believers, doubters, seekers, and skeptics.

We are committed to racial equality, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, disability justice, and dismantling systems of racism and oppression in our church and world, particularly in communities impacted by food insecurity and economic exploitation.

You are not just welcome. You are needed

Here, you’ll find meaningful worship, a community committed to social justice, and a place where your voice matters.

Wherever you’ve been and wherever you’re going, you are welcome to journey with us.

Who We Are.

The Church Lot isn't your average church.

We started as a Sunday night worship service in the Fellowship Hall of a traditional ELCA Lutheran congregation. Now, we're becoming something new: A spiritual home for the weary, the weird, and the hopeful. SOme of us are students. Some of us are deconstructing. Some of us have never belonged anywhere — until now.

We're anchored in the love of Jesus, driven by justice, and held together by the Holy Spirit (and free food).

What We're Building

A sacred space for Kennesaw State University students, faculty, and staff  to ask big questions and build real relationships. It's also a space where together, we can meet the needs of the KSU community and the Greater Kennesaw community.  â€‹â€‹

  • We are rooted in Lutheran theology, with a focus on Jesus and his teachings, grace, and our neighbor.

  • We are affiliated with First United Lutheran Church, the Southeastern Synod of the ELCA, and the ELCA.

  • We are a Registered Student Organization (RSO) at KSU and you will see us in action either at the Kennesaw campus or at our home base, First United Lutheran Church (A.K.A. "The Church Lot" stop on West Campus).

  • We meet in person, hang out online, and believe faith+spirituality should be fun, challenging, and snack-filled.

Campus Ministry

Belong Service

We normally meet on the Second Sunday of the month at 7:00 PM. Dinner is provided. We will NOT have worship during the months of June and July 2025, but will have several social events to maintain the great fellowship we have.

The liturgy is a loose ELCA Service of the Word. The music is a little bluesy, yet a little honkey-tonk. You will see gritty grace and real community.  There is no dress code…just show up as you are. We would love to have you.

Our Commitments

At The Church Lot, we're not just here to believe something. We're here to become something. Here's how we try to live that out.

Radical Hospitality

We welcome strangers like family, create space for people's full selves, and make room at the table for those the world pushes out. Hospitality is our everyday protest against division.

Acts 2:42 Living:

We eat together. We pray together. We show up for each other. Like the early church, we believe shared life is sacred life.

Resurrection People

We believe in starting over. In second chances. In healing and repair. To live a resurrected life means we believe Christ has made us new and continues to make us new each day. Therefore, we practice forgiveness, choose hope, and refuse to stay in systems that kill.

No Jerks Allowed

We commit to doing the hard, holy work of being kind. We listen more than we speak, ask hard questions without being cruel, and own it when we mess up. We also speak up when we see injustices. Grace and accountability are not opposites — they're roommates.

These aren't just statements. They're the soil we're using to plant our church.
